Where You Fit In
As a Field Manager, you will coordinate crews, equipment, and materials to keep landscape maintenance and snow removal operations (where applicable) running smoothly and on schedule. This is a hands-on, front-line leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, directing crews, resolving challenges in real time, and ensuring projects are completely safely, efficiently, and to company standards. Success in this role can be seen through strong client relationships and contract renewals, jobs that stay on budget, and a motivated team that consistently delivers quality work aligned with branch goals.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities for assigned maintenance contracts, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources
- Lead, hire, train, and grow team members, supporting their ongoing development through coaching, mentorship, and leading regular certification and skills-based training sessions
- Monitor labor, budgets, production hours, and job costs to keep projects on track and ensure team members understand performance expectations and progress toward goals
- Monitor work quality daily, proactively address potential issues, and ensure property inspections are completed with corresponding service reports submitted
- Drive additional revenue by identifying opportunities for enhancements and other add-on services beyond the scope of the base contract
- Cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s operating philosophy and branch performance goals and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer value.
- Ensure all assigned vehicles and equipment are consistently maintained in a safe, clean, and fully operational condition
Qualifications:
- Safety-first mindset with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in horticulture or a related field, with at least two years of relevant industry experience; equivalent industry experience or certifications may substitute for a non-related or two-year degree
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past three years (required)
- Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, and develop team members across multiple levels within a field operations environment
- Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, and develop team members at various levels
- Ability to diagnose common insect and plant disease issues and coordinate appropriate treatment plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally in English
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with service-oriented clients
- Solid working knowledge of the vehicles, tools, and equipment commonly used in landscape maintenance and snow removal operations
