Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for a contract position within a public elementary school setting in Columbus, OH. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the developmental progress and functional independence of young students during the uping school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with children, preferably in an elementary school or pediatric setting
- Knowledge of school-based occupational therapy practices and regulations
- Strong munication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to implement therapeutic interventions tailored to individual student needs
Location:
- Columbus, Ohio
- Elementary public school environment
Responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists in delivering therapy services focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living
- Support students during classroom and therapy sessions to promote engagement and participation
- Document therapy progress and maintain accurate records in pliance with school guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to integrate therapy strategies into the educational setting
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education plan (IEP) development when required
