Engineering Program Manager — Custom Machine Integration

Lead Complex Automation Programs with Clarity and Speed

Own the full operations lifecycle—order through commissioning—for custom, PLC-driven machinery. Drive feasibility, planning, execution, and communication across a global portfolio while safeguarding scope, quality, cost, and delivery.

What You'll Tackle

• Translate customer inputs into system-level requirements and close gaps in the data needed for design and assembly.
• Evaluate quotations, specifications, and contracts for technical feasibility and alignment.
• Build, maintain, and revise detailed Microsoft Project schedules; track changes and communicate updates with sales, engineering, supply chain, operations, and customers.
• Coordinate cross-project planning to balance priorities, resources, timelines, and scope.
• Lead engineering and manufacturing project/equipment engineers to meet milestones.
• Support manufacturing readiness for equipment buy-off and participate in acceptance testing when required.
• Continuously publish project status, resource utilization, and performance metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
• Interface daily with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and planning to resolve execution issues.
• Recommend improvements to project and program management practices using lean and risk management principles.
• Deliver on scope within quality, cost, and delivery constraints under cross-functional direction from engineering and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex mechanical systems and PLC automation.
• Strength in project planning/analysis, risk evaluation and mitigation, and clear communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft suite; comfortable in ERP environments.
• Skilled presenter and relationship builder with internal and external customers; able to coordinate multiple global efforts.

Logistics

• Travel: 5–20% (or as needed)
• Work schedule: typically 40–47 hours/week; may include on-call, evenings, and/or weekends. Longer weeks may be required with changing business demands.
