• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43219 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Behavioral Health Division, Adult Inpatient Unit (24 beds)
• Assignment Type: RN travel contract
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1840-$1890
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours/week, including weekends
• Electronic Health Record: Pinpoint, HCS
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification (can be obtained within 30 days of employment)
• Ability to float to other behavioral health units as needed
• Strong clinical assessment skills, experience with Columbia Suicidal Scale, CIWA/COWS protocol, and medication reconciliation
• Excellent multitasking, adaptability, and conflict resolution skills

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with psychiatric diagnoses (e.g., schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder)
• Conduct detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Perform safety monitoring, including 15-minute checks and contraband searches
• Monitor patient status and provide one-on-one care as needed
• Administer medications and ensure accurate medication reconciliation
• Document patient care and progress in Pinpoint and HCS EHR systems
• Lead and participate in group education and therapeutic activities
• Accompany patients to off-unit activities and medical appointments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
