Clerical Specialist II (CSEA)

Primary Duties (non-exclusive): Prepares and handles agency correspondence (e.g., lists, labels, letters, forms, making copies, various agency packets, verification requests); performs word processing functions; maintains files and organization of file room(s); compiles, verifies and tracks data and information; prepares, analyzes, reconciles and files reports, correspondence, records or other documents and/or enters data to update computer files; sorts, scans and retrieves documents to/from electronic imaging system. Answers telephone calls and responds to general inquiries regarding Agency programs, purpose and procedures; directs more complex calls to appropriate staff; greets and assists people who enter agency and determines purpose of visit; assists applicants with form completion and on-line applications; operates various small office machinery (e.g., fax machines, copiers, shredders, scanners); schedules appointments and meetings as directed; handles outgoing and incoming mail.

Qualifications: (1) Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction, and reading and writing common English vocabulary. Also requires one course or six months experience in typing or keyboarding and one course or six months experience in word processing. (2) A valid Ohio driver's license (3) All positions are subject to employment verification, criminal background check, fingerprinting, alcohol and drug screening, motor vehicle report check, and approval by the Ashland County Commissioners.
