Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Location: Pataskala, OH

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm; Friday 6am-2:30pm

Pay Rate : $21.50/hr

Job Summary:

Ridge Corporation is seeking an experienced manufacturing support professional for a fulltime employment opportunity. The chosen candidate must knowledge of shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory, and production practices in a manufacturing environment. The Candidate must be comfortable with technology and possess at least a basic level of computer skills including spreadsheet development and usage. Previous work experience in a fast paced industrial environment is required. The person selected will be working directly with production, purchasing, shipping, and receiving personnel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Material Handling
• Large forklift usage including loading/unloading trucks; moving materials to/from pallet racking; delivery of materials to/from production and shipping areas on plant floor
• Movement of materials systematically in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory information
• Inventory Control
• Conducting cycle counts and physical inventories, following FIFO material handling procedures, and maintaining inventory locations including floor inventory (organization and cleaning)
• Printing labels and maintaining accurate inventory labeling
• Documenting receipt of product and performing receiving inspections including interplant transfers
• Logistics
• Preparing all shipping documents and executing all shipping and receiving transactions in ERP system
• Communicating with carriers and freight brokers
• Ensuring proper packaging on all outbound shipments
• Organizing raw material and finished goods shipments between Ridge facilities
• General
• Interfacing with production employees, plant management, sales team, customers and suppliers
• Facilitating communication between departments and Ridge facilities regarding shipping & receiving
• Resolving situations quickly by communicating status of problem and working with the appropriate team members, customers, and sales associates until all related issues are resolved
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness of shipping and receiving areas including outdoor loading and storage areas
• Produce shipping pallets/crates utilizing small power tools following general construction techniques.
• Follows Company safety and department policies and procedures.
• Maintains neat and clean work environment following 5S methodology
• Makes recommendations to continually improve processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school or college graduate
• Work experience in a fast paced industrial environment
• Ample knowledge of standard manufacturing inventory control, shipping and receiving procedures
• Familiarity with cycle counts, physical inventories, and receiving inspections
• Ability to perform visual validation of received merchandise to quality, description and package details from original purchase order
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at one time and to independently troubleshoot problems
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Warehouse management systems experience preferred with ability to perform RF functions.
• Forklift operation certification required. Must be acquired on the job within 90 days
• Knowledge of company safety, OSHA and department policies and procedures.
• Crane experience helpful but not required
• Good applied interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic English and perform basic math functions.
• Ability to be self-motivated.

Workplace Experience:

• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

Ergonomic Requirements:

• Ability to Stand for Long Periods of Time
