Carpenter

Minutemen Is looking for an Experienced Carpenter in the Blacklick, Ohio area. Candidate should have knowledge of building stairs, staircases, and stairwells. Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and planning: Review blueprints and project requirements to plan the staircase construction.
• Assembly: Construct and assemble the various components of the staircase
• Installation: Install the completed staircase, ensuring it is level and secure
• Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety standards.
• Carpentry: A strong background in carpentry techniques is essential
• Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
• Problem-solving: Ability to handle on-site challenges that arise during construction.
• Measuring and cutting: Precisely measuring and cutting materials like wood, metal, or concrete for each component of the stairwell.
• Detail work: Adding finishing touches like handrails, spindles, and anti-slip grooves
• Material handling: Working with various materials, sometimes involving specialized techniques like using water to compress wood for a tighter fit.
• Carpentry skills: Proficient in using a variety of carpentry tools.
• Attention to detail: A high degree of precision is necessary to ensure the staircase is safe and functional.
