Job Title: General Manager – Metal Fabrication Company

Location: Centerville/Dayton, OH

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary:

BoatEFX LLc is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of our metal fabrication facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production, quality, safety, and business performance to ensure the company meets its operational, financial, and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal fabrication, machining and manufacturing leadership, with a proven ability to drive efficiency, foster a positive workforce culture, and deliver consistent, high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all plant operations including fabrication, welding, machining, finishing, assembly and shipping processes.

• Develop and implement operational plans to improve productivity, reduce waste, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

• Ensure all production meets or exceeds customer specifications and delivery timelines.

• Supervise departments and provide strong leadership across operations, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and HR.

• Monitor job costing, production schedules, and capacity planning to ensure efficient resource utilization.

• Maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and vendors to support project success and business growth.

• Oversee plant maintenance and ensure reliability of machinery including CNC equipment, welding systems, and material handling.

• Track KPIs and operational metrics and report regularly to executive leadership on performance, risk, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business, or related field.

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing; 5+ years in a senior management role.

• In-depth understanding of metal fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, machining, finishing, and assembly.

• Strong knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, alloys), tolerances, and shop practices.

• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production tracking tools; strong data-driven decision-making skills.

• Demonstrated success in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (certification a plus).

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.

• Background Check Required

Work Environment:

• Split between office and fabrication shop floor environments.

• Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 60 lbs.

• May require extended hours to meet operational needs or project deadlines.

• BoatEFX LLc will be relocating to a new facility in Xenia, Ohio, October 2025.
