Overview

Cardinal Therapy Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work in an elementary school setting under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to serving students weekly with physical therapy needs in a collaborative environment. Our experienced Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists are eager to work together as a team with you to best serve these students' needs!

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for students.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, modalities and collaborating on equipment and/or accommodation recommendations.
• Monitor student progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate students, teaching support staff and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and recommended strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student treatments and progress notes in compliance with Ohio Department of Education standards.
• Collaborate with the district staff to ensure the highest level of care and efficient communication to benefit the students' overall success.
• Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for students leaving therapy.

Skills

• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
• Experience in a school setting is highly desirable, however not required. Training is available.
• Strong understanding of human physiology to effectively assist in student treatment plans.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, families, and educational teams.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of treatment, as well as submit billing in a timely manner.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy and provide compassionate care to diverse student populations.
