Product Validation Program Manager / Master Scheduler

GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation
Cincinnati, OH
Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace's Product Validation (PV) Team is a cross-functional engineering organization that provides key expertise and resources across all aspects of test planning and execution, from ideation through verification and validation. Key teams and disciplines include Evaluation Engineering, Test Enabling Hardware, Test Facilities, Instrumentation, and Data Systems. These teams represent a growing global footprint with a wide array of world-class testing facilities. The PV team owns and drives testing efforts ranging from technology maturation component- and rig/module-level testing through full-scale certification and qualification testing for New Product Introduction programs.

The Product Validation Deputy Program Manager / Master Scheduler is a programmatic and analytical leader with strong technical awareness, working closely with Systems and Design teams to understand testing needs ranging from component-level tests to full engine builds. The role focuses on operationalizing the planning and execution of these activities across the PV enterprise, with an emphasis on schedules, resources, and demand visibility.

This role will specifically focus on identifying demand signals for PV resources, decomposing and quantifying these signals into headcount, skill mix, and hardware needs, signaling these demands to adjacent teams within PV, and monitoring the scheduling and execution of these activities. The PV Deputy Program Manager / Master Scheduler will work with PV program leaders to assess test effort demands, establish Strategic Workforce Plans (SWP) for all Future of Flight (FoF) testing efforts, and ensure execution rigor is aligned with the GE Aerospace Engineering Handbook and Flight Deck Fundamentals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide programmatic planning and coordination throughout the planning and execution of testing, with a strong focus on schedules, resources, and execution rigor.
  • Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure alignment of testing plans and resource needs with the Long-Range Forecast (LRF) and approved budgets.
  • Consolidate and validate project metrics and KPIs such as Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI), On-Time Delivery (OTD), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and related indicators; provide input to project operating and financial cadence.
  • Establish cross-program Strategic Workforce Plans (SWP) for PV testing efforts and support hiring or redeployment of personnel to maintain and grow capability as required.
  • Champion the development of standard work to drive consistency in technical and programmatic planning and resourcing of testing activities, from early scoping of schedule and resources through daily management of instrumentation, assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Review derived product and system requirements for management of PV assets and ensure they are translated into actionable test and resource plans.
  • Contribute to PV capability improvement proposals and roadmaps aligned with program and business strategic objectives, including resourcing and schedule implications.
  • Determine specific expertise and capabilities needed to execute test requirements and coordinate resources and schedules across sites and teams to meet those requirements.
  • Provide forward-looking strategy and analytics for product validation and technology development, enabling PV to maintain a competitive advantage in schedule, cost, and capability.
  • Develop and manage program schedules and baselines that integrate test plans, resource availability, and budget constraints to meet business objectives.
  • Support risk and opportunity management, including risk and opportunity boards, and lead lead team execution to minimize program risk exposure related to schedule, capacity, and cost.
  • Support long-term strategic roadmaps for test capability, facilities, and instrumentation, providing schedule and cost estimates to senior leadership and external customers.
  • Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas such as operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Assess the quality of information provided, ask pertinent questions from stakeholders, and construct well-founded recommendations. Use multiple internal and external sources, beyond the immediate function, to inform decisions.
