EH&S Manager

Job Description

Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) regulations across all locations. You will serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, maintain all required operating permits, coordinate essential EH&S training, lead related initiatives, and oversee ISO 14001 activities.

Responsibilities Include

• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements through effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment.

• Complete, maintain, and submit all required operating permits and regulatory reports.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable statutes and regulations; interact with regulatory personnel and local authorities as needed.

• Develop, implement, and communicate EH&S programs, plans, and policies.

• Direct and promote EH&S initiatives across the organization.

• Lead the Safety Committee and Pollution Prevention Teams.

• Identify, coordinate, and facilitate plant-wide safety and environmental training, including new-hire safety orientation.

• Direct ISO activities to maintain certification.

• Conduct internal and external audits, as well as accident investigations.

• Direct emergency response activities, including cleanup, investigation, and reporting of toxic or hazardous spills.

• Oversee wastewater treatment operations and the hazardous waste program to ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, transportation, disposal, and recordkeeping.

• Participate in engineering, planning, and management meetings.

• Oversee related EH&S projects as assigned.

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) roles.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated.

• Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

• Project-focused with the ability to lead and delegate without direct supervisory authority.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment

The role involves working across various EMS locations, ensuring compliance with EH&S standards. The position requires interaction with regulatory personnel and participation in cross-functional meetings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walbridge, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $54.00/hr.
