Route Supervisor

Our family owned and operated food distribution business is looking for a talented and experienced Route Supervisor to join our management team.

Overview

1. Senior leadership position with bottom line accountability
2. Responsible for supervising Route Drivers and daily distribution activity
3. Provide and facilitate training for all new Route Drivers
4. Maintain customer accounts and solicit new customers
5. Demonstrate results in improving business performance through leadership

Qualifications

1. Have a highly developed sense of urgency
2. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle report)
3. Must be able to pass a background check & DOT Physical
4. Must be able to pass a drug screening
5. Excellent customer service skills
6. Strong oral and written communication skills
7. Must have strong leadership qualities
8. Excellent time management skills
9. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
10. Must be FLEXIBLE with schedule
11. Must have strong computer skills
12. H.S Diploma required; college degree is helpful.
13. Knowledge of DOT compliance helpful
14. Experience with truck leasing programs helpful

Responsibilities

1. Coach, lead and develop Route Drivers
2. Guide the efforts of the Route Sales Team by riding routes (if needed), checking drivers sales reports and orders for accuracy
3. Oversee daily settlement of routes sales activity
4. Handle incoming customer calls either by telephone or in person
5. Must be able to fill in if Route Driver or Loader/Shipper is on vacation
