Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant supports restaurant operations by overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining internal controls across our restaurants. This role plays an important part in month-end close, financial analysis, and operational support, with a strong understanding of restaurant-specific accounting best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the Monthly Accounting Cycle and Accounting Close to ensure on-time and accurate financial statements.
• Prepare all Periodic Financial Reporting for Restaurant and Company Management.
• Manage Other Financial Reporting (Weekly Operational Reporting and Landlord Sales Reporting, eg.).
• Support all company initiatives to improve Cost of Goods and Hourly Labor Costs.
• Manage Misc. Sales Based Tax Reporting – Sales & Use, OH CAT, etc.
• Assist with management of Fixed Assets.
• Assist with weekly Accounts Payable Processing.
• Assist with semi-monthly Payroll Processing.
• Approve Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
• Prepare Accountant Analysis and Reconciliation as needed.
• Assist with annual third-party Financial Statement Review.
• Provide exceptional Accounting/Financial Support and Training to Restaurant Management Teams.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, with Accounting/Finance/Business Major preferred.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Processes and Principles, including GAAP.
• Proficiency with Accounting Software, such as Toast, Restaurant 365, Paycor, or similar systems.
• Five plus years in a similar role, or progression towards this role,
• Restaurant or hospitality industry experience preferred.
