Responsibilities
Supervise daily shop operations by assigning work orders, managing technician workflow, preventing bottlenecks, and ensuring the floor runs efficiently and on schedule
Maintain repair quality and compliance by reviewing completed work, verifying documentation accuracy, and ensuring all jobs meet DOT, FMCSA, OEM, and company standards
Provide technical support and oversight by assisting with complex diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and keeping the team aligned with current regulatory requirements
Lead and develop technicians through coaching, training, onboarding, performance management, and reinforcing a culture of safety, accountability, and first‑time‑right workmanship
Coordinate parts and resources by working with the parts department to stage components, identify shortages early, and minimize technician downtime
Enforce safety and housekeeping standards through regular shop audits, consistent PPE and policy enforcement, and immediate correction of unsafe conditions or behaviors
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, with trade‑school training preferred and at least 3 years of hands‑on trailer or fleet repair experience
Strong working knowledge of OTR trailer systems including brakes, suspension, electrical, and structural components, plus familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance
1–2 years of supervisory or lead‑tech experience with proven skill in directing teams, managing workload, and maintaining accountability
Consistent focus on safe work practices, precision, and high‑quality repair standards
Salary: $64K - $72K
