Summary

The purpose of this position is to create an opportunity for student staff to gain practical work experience through assisting users of the Field House by providing information, general maintenance and custodial duties, setting up equipment, and enforcing policies.

Essential Functions

• Customer Service: Greet and interact with patrons, provide excellent service, maintain positive rapport with patrons and coworkers, and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication
• Operations: Obtain knowledge of work area, enforce rules and regulations, and problem-solve as situations arise
• Administrative: Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings, participate in Student Development and Leadership Program, adhere to all policies outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual, support the mission of Recreation and Wellness, and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Complete the BGSU Bloodborne Pathogen and Preventing Workplace Harassment training.
• Complete online risk management training.
• Possess ability to work with office/computer equipment.
• Possess and display professional mannerisms, alertness, and a friendly demeanor.
• No previous experience necessary.
• Familiarity with track, court, or turf-related sport activities (preferred).
• Able to stand for possibly long periods of time.
