Hocking Valley Community Hospital: What drives us
HVCH is a 25-bed critical access hospital (CAH) with a full-service Emergency Department, Urgent Care, and Surgical Services, as well as many Outpatient Clinics and Services, and a Rural Health Clinic providing Family and Pediatric care services. We have over 350 employees who serve the residents and visitors of beautiful Logan and Hocking Hills, Ohio. We are affiliated with OSU Wexner Medical Center and part of the Ohio State Health Network.
Your role as a Pharmacist
As a full-time Pharmacist at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, you can expect an engaging day-to-day routine that keeps you on your toes! Your responsibilities will include verifying prescription orders, providing medication counseling to patients, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy. You'll work two days a week, sharing on-call duties with the team, allowing flexibility in your schedule.
Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 4:30pm. What we're looking for in a Pharmacist
To thrive as a Pharmacist at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, you'll need a blend of technical and soft skills. A valid Pharmacist license in good standing in Ohio and a degree from an ACPE accredited pharmacy school are essential, with a PharmD preferred. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency is strongly favored, especially if you have experience in a hospital setting. You'll need to demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with patients and healthcare teams effectively.
The ability to work independently while setting priorities and making critical decisions is key in a dynamic pharmacy environment. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems, will support your daily tasks. Familiarity with EPIC (EHR) and Pyxis (ADC) is advantageous, along with a commitment to quality care and patient safety. Flexibility and dependability, particularly during on-call shifts, are vital for ensuring patient needs are met consistently!
