The psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner will provide on-site services to the female population at this facility. Schedule will be weekdays (no nights, weekends, or holidays) for 24 hours/week. There is some flexibility with hours based on needs of facility. The assignment is projected to last approximately 6 months but may be extended based on continued need and mutual good fit.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Provide psychotherapy and medication management for patients with mental health conditions.
• Perform physical examinations and basic life support as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients, including those with developmental disabilities.
• Manage laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

• Proficient in conducting physical examinations and basic life support techniques.
• Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to mental health assessments.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Competent in performing specimen collection and processing tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
