Customer Care Techincian

The Customer Care Technician, under general direction from the Front Office Lead, has primary responsibilities including:

• Greet and assist all visitors entering the shelter


• Answer the telephone and direct all calls to the proper destination


• Provides general information to the public regarding animal or Animal Friends Humane Society-related matters


• Handling of animals


• Handles the surrender of animals (stray and owner surrender) through the shelter, ensuring that all proper documentation has been completed through PetPoint


• Handles all outcomes of animals (adoption, return to owner, rescue transfer), ensuring that all proper documentation has been completed through PetPoint


• Enters animal licenses and collects fees


• Removal of animals on PetFinder as they become unavailable


• Maintains cash drawer and handles all financial transactions


• Assists the public with issues such as logging lost and found animal reports, trap rental, merchandise purchases, and scheduling of low-cost spay/neuter clinics.


• Interacts with co-workers and volunteers efficiently and courteously to ensure a cooperative team environment amongst all departments


• Ability to be empathetic and informative


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Responsible for the general cleanliness and appearance of the Front Office and restrooms


• Maintain and promote a positive public image standard relevant to Animal Friends Humane Society


• 
  Perform other duties required by the supervisor/manager

Education/Experience Requirements

• 
  High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Please note: All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.

This position has the potential to be part-time or full-time, depending on shelter needs and applicant preference.
