Are you passionate about water resources and ready to make a measurable impact? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Water Resources & Hydrology to lead critical programs that protect our region from flooding, safeguard water quality, and ensure sustainable water management for the future.
As the Manager of Water Resources & Hydrology, you will serve as both a technical expert and strategic leader, shaping how water resource data informs decisions across the region, and driving initiatives that directly influence flood protection, water quality, and regional planning.
Key Responsibilities
Leads, mentors, and develops a team of hydrology professionals while setting program priorities, managing budgets, and coordinating cross-departmental efforts. Oversees hydrologic monitoring and analysis, including the collection, validation, and interpretation of surface water, groundwater, and precipitation data, while ensuring the integrity and advancement of data systems. Monitors real-time conditions and identifies trends impacting flood risk, water supply, and overall watershed health. Identifies emerging water resource issues and recommends changes or improvements to analysis or monitoring.
Plays a key role in emergency response by providing technical guidance during high water and flood events by assessing risk, monitoring forecasts, supporting operational decisions, and delivering timely reporting. Oversees the development of key reports and communicates complex hydrologic data in clear, actionable ways for stakeholders and the public. Supports watershed planning and resource management through strategic analysis, project and grant management, and collaboration with regional partners, while advancing innovative tools and approaches to water resource monitoring and decision-making. Interprets and communicates watershed conditions, trends, and risks to support decision-making by leadership, partners, and the public.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in water resources or hydrology. Supervisory or project management experience required.
Strong knowledge of hydrology, groundwater systems, water quantity and quality analysis and experience with data systems. Proficiency with hydrologic monitoring equipment and sampling equipment, field instrumentation, and data visualization tools. Ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights clearly. Familiarity with programming or data processing tools is a plus.
