Key Job Details – PCU RN Travel Nursing

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nurse contract)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Duration: 16 weeks (13-19 week assignments considered; preferred end dates: 1/10, 1/17, or 1/24)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940-$1990
• Healthcare Setting: Corrections Health Unit (locked unit, oncology/med-surg focus)
• Patient Census: 36 beds

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float between PCU and Oncology Medical-Surgical units
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients with acute conditions
• Float between PCU and Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Maintain staff and patient safety in a secure corrections healthcare environment
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and provide telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications, including heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), and blood products
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage central/peripheral lines, including PICC lines
• Care for patients requiring respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management, oxygen therapy)
• Support patients with feeding tubes, pre/post hemodialysis, and renal failure management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication management
