Java Services Developer (Java EE)

Job Description

An employer is looking for an experienced Backend Java Developer for an on-site, contract opportunity in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The client is a large bank and the Sr. Java Developer will be focused on backend development, application system support and configuration of the client's complaints management process on CMT. CMT is complaints workflow tool running on IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) hosted on WebSphere. This role is to support the bank's integration with another, and will require experience with Java, Java EE (Jakata EE), and WebSphere. The work will focus on developing new features to support workflow compatibility with CMA data, integration with updates to backend services, and application.

The candidate will handle the management of the application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.

• Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle.

• Determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products.

• Designing and conducting tests.

• Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

• Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years overall experience, including hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE (Jakarta EE) platforms

• Experience with Java 7 or Java 8

• Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns

• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)

• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, etc.)

• Experience with WebSphere (WAS) - Experience with VML, XML, JAXP

• IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW)

• Experience in banking or other highly regulated industry

• Eclipse IDE
