Shift Manager Operations

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Operations at our Middletown location. The Shift Manager coordinates the Safety and Quality activities and oversees production of a production line in accordance with safety, material quality and production standards. We have multiple openings across the plant.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately fifteen (15) hourly bargaining unit personnel per turn and instruct these personnel in job requirements and enforces conformance with both company and department policies.

• Lead daily and monthly safety briefings with hourly employees.

• Resolve problems created by breakdowns, scheduled changes, metallurgical procedure changes, etc.

• Collaborate with other departments and personnel to assure the efficient operations.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 3 years supervisory experience.

• Strong leadership and effective management skills.

• Ability to evaluate problems and resolve efficiently.

• Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in a related field.

• General knowledge of the steelmaking process.
