- Manage landscape maintenance contracts for university and medical center grounds.
- Ensure contractors adhere to landscape management plans, schedules, and performance standards.
- Coordinate routine care, seasonal plantings, and special projects within budget and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting.
- Conduct contractor training, quality inspections, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with procurement strategies for landscape services and supplies.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for contracted services.
- Maintain inventory of all capital and non-capital assets for the department.
- Respond to after-hours or emergency situations, including storm damage and hazardous conditions.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years of experience in landscape management, groundskeeping, horticulture, or facilities operations (preferably in university or commercial settings).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and planning skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Desired:
- Working knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, plant care, pest management, and landscape design principles.
- 4-8 years’ experience in landscape management, groundskeeping, horticulture, or facilities operations (preferably in university or commercial settings).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and blueprints; familiarity with codes and safety standards.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with landscape management software or CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices and native plantings.
- Commitment to staying current with industry best practices, software, and regulatory requirements.
