Maintenance TechnicianPosition Type: Full-Time / On-siteReports To: Office Manager
Position OverviewThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the upkeep, safety, and functionality of all ICGC facilities and grounds. This includes preventive maintenance, repairs, vendor coordination, inventory management, and ensuring that the campus remains clean, safe, and operational for daily activities, programs, and community events.
Key Responsibilities:Facility & Grounds MaintenanceOversee daily inspections of buildings, classrooms, restrooms, outdoor areas, masjid, gym, and administrative offices.
Perform or supervise routine repairs including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
Ensure cleaning standards are met and coordinate with janitorial staff as needed.
Oversee landscaping, snow removal procedures, and seasonal upkeep.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and building systems.
Ensure all safety systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, AEDs, emergency exits) are up to code.
Address emergency repairs promptly.
Oversee vendors for major repairs, projects, and inspections.
Request and evaluate quotes, monitor work quality, and ensure timely completion.
Maintain positive working relationships with contractors and service providers.
Track and manage supplies, tools, and equipment.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and condition of maintenance materials.
Monitor budget for supplies and repair costs.
Oversee maintenance staff and custodial team.
Assign tasks, track productivity, and provide training when needed.
Assist with setup, breakdown, and facility readiness for programs, classes, and special events.
Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and properly arranged.
High school diploma required; technical certification preferred.
3–5 years of experience in building maintenance or facility management.
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and building codes.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to respond to emergencies and work occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
Previous experience with a mosque, nonprofit, school, or community center is a plus.
Reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
Professional and respectful, especially within a community-centered environment.
