Job Description Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is a faith based Catholic Healthcare Ministry committed to serving the poor and underserved of our community since 1853. Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is a Regional Tertiary care facility serving a 150 mile radius of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. St. Vincent has been a well-established leader in quality healthcare as demonstrated by being verified as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, designated as a STEMI Center, as well as Comprehensive Stroke Center verified by the Joint Commission. Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center has also partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital of Columbus to create Nationwide Children’s Hospital of Toledo on the campus of Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Summary: Performs various general duties and assists in the provision of patient care of all age groups as directed by the Registered Nurse and Organizational Leadership. Provides direct care for patients, answers call lights, performs clerical/courier/transporter functions. Collects data through a variety of means including observation and through the use of instrumentation. Recognizes and communicates pertinent information to multidisciplinary teams to ensure prompt attention to patient and departmental needs. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: 2 year/Associate Degree Required Licensure/Certifications: Completion of state approved nurse aide competency/testing and/or experience as a LPN, Medical Assistant or equivalent health care education. Will also consider students who have successfully completed two (2) semesters of clinical professional nursing education or completion of PCT training program. CPR Minimum Qualifications:- Previous direct care experience in a patient care environment.
- CPR trained or successful completion of approved CPR course within 30 days of hire.
- Maintains and Demonstrates competency in required clinical skills/competencies.
- Demonstrates computer literacy and basic technological abilities or completion of basic computer class.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions and patient information. Accurately reporting and
- documenting data and services provided.
- Good Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary team and patients in
- a manner that fosters the team concept and supports the core values of the organization.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to change and constant interruptions, with the ability to set and meet
- deadlines.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities while working in a fast paced, environment.

- Hours per pay period: 80
- Weekend, holiday and on-call rotation required per department policy
