Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Unit: PICU Respiratory Therapy
• Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) | 12 Hour Days
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025, End: 2/2/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250-$2310
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
• Floating: Required to CTICU, NICU, H8A (pulmonary), Core (general/ED)
• Weekend Coverage: May be scheduled based on unit needs

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience (PICU or pediatric respiratory therapy preferred)
• Active Ohio Registered Respiratory Therapist license (required at submission)
• BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Experience with ventilators: Hamilton G5, T1 Travel Vent, MRI ventilator (Hamilton), Respironics Trilogy, and V60
• Must provide 2 supervisory references (one must be supervisor/manager titled)
• Cannot have worked permanent for this facility within the last 2 years
• Willingness and ability to float to various critical care units as needed
• No local candidates (must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients in the PICU and other assigned units
• Perform advanced respiratory therapies: aerosol setup, BiPAP/CPAP, intubation assistance, chest physiotherapy, high-frequency oscillation
• Operate, manage, and troubleshoot a variety of ventilators and respiratory equipment
• Care for patients with complex respiratory diagnoses, including trauma, pulmonary conditions, and long-term trach/ventilator support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to CTICU, NICU, pulmonary, and general/ED units as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced hospital environment
