Item Processor: Job Summary

The Item Processor is responsible for the processing of electronic and paper deposits, withdrawals, exceptions, and adjustments for multiple financial channels, and supporting additional item processing functions as well as providing operational support to branches and the Call/Service Center.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· ACH, Draft, Remote payment, credit cards and wire processing, etc.

· Return check and foreign check processing.

· General ledger balancing.

· Conducts daily processing of image deposit files. Proof and review deposit items based on risk analysis to determine if the items should be approved, adjusted, or rejected. Responsible for notifying members by email of reject reason.

· Troubleshoots Debit, Credit and ATM card issues and researches member inquiries regarding item processing and Share Branch and ATM adjustments.

· May assist in processing member service requests on various department functions.

· Performs exception item processing functions including overdrafts, unposted items, stop payments, returns, cash letter adjustments, charge backs, etc.

· Thorough understanding of customer service. Excellent verbal communication skills including active listening.

· Ability to work effectively with co-workers.

· Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.

· Work well under pressure.

· Strong team player.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Prior banking experience is preferred but not required.

· General office skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
