As a Gift Shop Clerk, you will support the daily operations of the Corner Shop at Union Hospital. As a member of this team, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors and fellow staff. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a supportive environment where you can develop long-lasting relationships, interact with a diverse population and gain hands-on experience within a healthcare setting.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM - 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assist with receiving, stocking, displaying and selling gift shop merchandise.
• Greet customers and assist with purchase selections.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit card and debit card.
• Issue receipts, change, credits or refunds.
• Assist with monitoring inventory and restocking shelves and displays.
• Send invoices to accounts payable for payment.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a retail setting, maintaining cash/check/charge sales, receipts and deposits and paying invoices/maintaining financial reports

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office and laboratory equipment
• Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
