Automotive Group Controller
:
Valley Automotive Group seeks a Corporate Controller to play a pivotal role in the dynamic growth of our automotive dealership network. We seek an experienced accounting professional with a solid background in automotive retail and proven success as a Corporate Controller.

Reporting to the company's CFO, the Corporate Controller manages all facets of retail accounting, including:
- Leading and developing our integrated and highly productive team of Controllers and Office Managers. Hire, Train and Motivate)
- The creation of statutory reports for our automotive dealerships
- Implementing and maintaining all retail accounting policies and procedures
We seek a strong team player with advanced interpersonal and leadership skills and business acumen.
This is a full-time, onsite position at our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the retail accounting organization, focusing on producing timely, complete, and accurate accounting for the portfolio of Valley Automotive Group dealerships.
- Continuously develop the company's accounting processes and Dealer Management System (CDK) implementation, identifying and capturing opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain close working relationships with the Controllers at each dealership, providing high levels of service to them while ensuring adherence to the company's accounting standards and practices.
- Own and manage the financial closing calendars, scheduling and assuring timely, complete, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
- Support internal reviews, audits, and corporate requests.
- Participate in the onboarding and integration of newly acquired dealerships.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Prior success as a dealer group Corporate Controller, including leading teams of 20+ people
- Substantial experience with CDK
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of full-cycle accounting and accrual methods.
