COMMUNITY FIRST TRANSITION SPECIALIST

The Fayette County Board of Developmental Disabilities is now hiring a full-time Community First Transition Specialist. Under the general supervision of the Community First Director, this position is responsible for implementing, developing and coordinating the School Transition Series program to assist individuals with disabilities ages 14-22 with the transition from high school to their desired career. The program will focus on developing social skills, job seeking skills, training, interviewing skills, resumes, etc. The Community First Transition Coordinator will coordinate, monitor and assist with People First self-advocacy groups and Ohio Self-Determination events as well as monitor and document progress of students who have been referred to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). Associates Degree and one (1) year experience coordinating services in DD or related human services preferred. Applicants should have working knowledge of persons with disabilities.

A 180-day probation period must be completed. Individual must be able to pass BCI and FBI criminal background checks as required by the Ohio Revised Code; pass a preemployment drug screen, physical and TB test, and have a valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record and a satisfactory MVR CORSA score.
