Salary Range: $157,000 - $165,000 per year
This is a permanent, full-time position with regular employee status.

5. Position Summary
The Nurse Manager I for the Hospital Cath Lab is responsible for leading and managing nursing operations within the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This position oversees a 24/7 operational environment, directing both clinical and administrative functions to ensure safe, high-quality patient care delivery. The Nurse Manager I will implement best practice models, lead nursing staff, manage resources, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical expertise in cath lab operations combined with business acumen and leadership capabilities.
6. Must-Haves
- Strong Cath Lab Leadership Experience: Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in patient care delivery within a cardiac catheterization laboratory setting is required
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Business/Clinical Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or directly related field
- Leadership Experience: Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse License (State of Oregon) required at hire
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire
7. Primary Functions
Clinical Leadership & Team Development:
- Maintain clinical expertise and provide clinical supervision, competency assessment, and credentialing necessary to direct patient care in the cath lab unit
- Provide developmental opportunities for nursing staff; build collaborative relationships and solicit performance feedback
- Work closely with employees to set performance goals, provide coaching, and drive continuous improvement
- Delegate tasks and duties in alignment with scope of practice and professional nursing standards
- Support execution of performance management guidelines and expectations
- Collaborate with Nursing Clinical Practice to ensure compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and federal, state, and local requirements
- Manage the designated cath lab unit by translating business plans into tactical action items
- Oversee completion of work assignments and identify opportunities for improvement
- Monitor resource needs in the cath lab to ensure appropriate assignment and utilization of staff, equipment, supplies, and medications
- Monitor and maintain equipment, supplies, and medication inventory
- Foster a safe environment for patients and employees
- Build accountability and measure progress in achieving operational results
- Remove obstacles impacting performance and address improvement opportunities
- Drive implementation of action items and support compliance with timelines and financial commitments
- Review ad hoc reporting to meet specific client needs related to workflow and performance targets
- Oversee data collection, review performance data, and translate reports into operational initiatives
- Manage cross-functional activities including workplace and patient safety, human resources functions, training and development, and quality/risk management
- Lead survey readiness activities including mock rounds and mitigating issues to maintain compliance and regulatory standards
- Assist in development and management of department budget, expenditures, and payroll
- Manage care delivery operations within a 24/7 operational environment
- Implement strategic initiatives with significant program impact using data and analysis
- Proactively monitor daily operational activities involving direct and indirect patient care management
- Implement emergency preparedness programs and ensure staff training and understanding of expectations
- Monitor and guide continuous improvement of quality and safety of clinical practices and operations
- Hold staff accountable for maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Implement systems and processes to evaluate and improve patient care within the cath lab and across the continuum of care
- Lead project teams and initiatives related to operational and quality improvement
- Lead, adapt, and implement organizational changes while staying current with best practices and industry trends
- Manage cross-functional teams to develop goals, identify issues, and implement strategic projects designed to improve quality, service, and operating efficiency
- Apply structured approaches to identify root causes and implement solutions for operational system improvements
- Foster open dialogue amongst team members; engage, motivate, and promote collaboration within and across teams
- Investigate and resolve patient, family, and member concerns regarding patient care and services
- Collaborate with physicians, outside healthcare providers, and other health care team members to achieve optimal and safe patient care
- Perform clinical duties as required to support unit operations
- Cath Lab Expertise: Advanced knowledge and proven experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory operations, procedures, and protocols
- Patient Safety: Demonstrated commitment to and expertise in implementing and maintaining patient safety standards
- Nursing Principles: Strong foundation in nursing theory, practice, and clinical decision-making
- Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams; experience managing budgets and resources
- Change Management: Ability to implement organizational changes effectively and guide teams through transitions
- Business Process Improvement: Experience with quality improvement methodologies and continuous process enhancement
- Compliance Management: Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Conflict Resolution: Strong ability to address conflicts professionally and facilitate resolution among diverse stakeholders
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in building relationships with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and external healthcare partners
