Canton Country Day School is seeking an outstanding MS LANGUAGE ARTS teacher to join our faculty. You will be responsible for teaching and guiding students in reading comprehension, writing, language use, speech, and grammar curricula, and creating lesson plans with other teachers, and implementing classroom activities that will encourage students to think creatively and critically. Additionally, you will collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Develop LA curricula and create lesson plans that incorporate technology and computer software
• Teach and guide students in the specialized subject matter in grammar, reading, writing, comprehension, and speech
• Motivate and engage students in hands-on learning activities
• Implement classroom activities designed to encourage students to think creatively and critically
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to each student
• Identify student’s strengths and areas of improvement
• Assign homework and grade student projects, tests, assignments, and exams
• Collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year
• Provide students with social and emotional support
• Provide a wide range of hands-on materials, technological applications, and resources
• Regularly communicate with parents
• A bachelor’s degree in middle childhood education with a Language Arts focus
• State teaching license in the corresponding field
• Knowledge of LA curricula and best practices
• Proficiency with technology
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills

• Classroom management skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
• BCI fingerprint & drug testing upon hire
• Clear background check and driving record

Benefits and Pay

· Salary range: $35,000-$60,000 (based on experience)
