Sr Mgt Reporting Analyst - Regulatory Reporting Governance

KeyBank
Brooklyn, OH

Location:

4900 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn Ohio

Position Summary

KeyBank is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Management Reporting Analyst – Regulatory Reporting Governance to support the governance, oversight, and risk-based prioritization of Finance-owned financial regulatory reporting processes.

This role sits within a growing team that is building governance frameworks, policies, and operating routines from the ground up and will play a critical part in driving alignment, transparency, and accountability across report owners, finance, risk, technology stakeholders, and second line partners. The role is focused on Finance regulatory reporting activities, including financial, capital, and liquidity-related regulatory reports.

Rather than producing regulatory reports directly, this role focuses on advising and supporting report owners by strengthening governance practices, enhancing control environments, and helping teams identify, prioritize, and resolve issues impacting the accuracy and integrity of regulatory submissions. This role requires strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex reporting and data challenges into clear, actionable insights for governance forums and leadership.

Success in this position requires a continuous improvement mindset, intellectual curiosity, and comfort operating in an evolving environment while helping shape a scalable regulatory reporting governance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and document regulatory reporting governance procedures, including standards, playbooks, and operating routines, with a focus on building and evolving processes from the ground up.
  • Support governance committees and routines by preparing materials, facilitating discussions, and driving alignment on priorities, risks, and remediation activities.
  • Coordinate with report owners, data owners and stewards, and technology partners to identify, assess, prioritize, and resolve regulatory reporting issues, leveraging workflow tools and governance forums to track progress and accountability.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination across lines of business and second line partners, helping translate reporting risks, issues, and technical challenges into clear and actionable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain governance documentation and deliverables, including key control inventories, ownership structures, evidence expectations, procedures, and training and communication materials.
  • Assess regulatory reporting risks and control effectiveness across the reporting lifecycle, identifying control gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen preventive and detective controls.
  • Advise report owners on risk prioritization, control design, and remediation strategies, providing credible challenge and documenting outcomes to support auditability and timely, accurate filings.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring of control execution and evidence quality, summarizing key themes, recurring issues, and risks for escalation through governance routines.
  • Create and deliver stakeholder communications on governance expectations, control updates, and changes impacting regulatory reporting processes across finance, risk, and technology partners.
  • Partner with Regulatory Policy and report owners to document and maintain business definitions, data lineage, supporting data elements, and ownership frameworks aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of reporting processes and underlying data flows to effectively challenge and guide stakeholders, without direct ownership of report production or data validation.
  • Produce management reporting such as scorecards, dashboards, and status updates summarizing risk themes, control performance, open issues, and remediation progress.
  • Drive timely remediation and root cause analysis by coordinating with report owners, data stewards, and technology teams, validating the sustainability of fixes and ensuring proper closure.
  • Operate with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying pain points and opportunities to enhance governance processes, workflows, and operating models.
  • Support internal audit, regulatory exams, and ad hoc requests by coordinating responses, assembling documentation, and tracking deliverables to completion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in audit, internal controls, risk governance, or regulatory reporting within a financial institution or public accounting environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of key control design and documentation practices, including control objectives, evidence standards, and control ownership, along with experience monitoring control performance.
  • Ability to operate effectively in evolving or build-out environments, with strong judgment and prioritization skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with financial institution regulatory reporting frameworks such as Call Reports, Y-9C, FR Y-14, CCAR, FDIC 370, or similar requirements.
  • Experience working within financial institutions or supporting banking clients in audit or advisory capacities.
  • Experience supporting internal audit and regulatory exam requests, including documentation assembly, walkthrough coordination, and issue tracking.
  • Comfort working across business, risk, and technology teams with the ability to interpret and communicate technical and reporting concepts.
  • CPA or similar certification.
