What you'll do:
- Greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new teammates.
- Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system and send them to the appropriate stations
- Maintain product knowledge to inform guests of specials, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request
- See to each guest’s special needs, including any allergies or dietary restrictions
- Serve food and beverages to guests, preparing and garnishing dishes as directed
- Create quality beverages consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
- Adhere to state liquor laws and regulations; verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Maintain products in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
- Maintain revenue by preparing checks that itemize total costs + sales taxes and collect accurate payment from guests
- Manage order times and inform guests and management of any delays in service
- Properly wash and sterilize glassware, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform your immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition and report all equipment problems to management
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
- Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the outlet, as directed by the outlet manager
Who you are:
- You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- You have a state-issued food handling + beverage certifications as required
- You have 6+ months of related cafe or hospitality experience preferred
- You can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- You have the ability to speak effectively after guests and groups of co-workers
- You can navigate and operate a computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems
- You can apply concepts of math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
