Job Post End Date: 10/14/2025 About this opportunity: Cenovus is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer for our Toledo Refinery. As part of the Instrument and Electrical Engineering Team, this role supports safe, reliable, and cost-effective unit operations through technical leadership and instrumentation expertise. The Senior Instrumentation Engineer applies advanced technologies and engineering practices to monitor, maintain, and improve instrumentation systems. What you'll do:

• Provide deep technical support to unit operations and the instrument shop for maintenance activities including field engagement.
• Review engineering projects and improvements to ensure compliance with refinery standards and good engineering practice.
• Provides technical input in determining priority and scope of instrumentation equipment repairs or replacement for projects, turnaround, and maintenance activities
• Work within multi-discipline team to identify and managing instrumentation reliability improvement opportunities
• Directs the efforts of third-party design engineering and construction contractors for small project package development.
• Acts as a subject matter expert, offering peer leadership & technical guidance to achieve common goals.

Who you are:

• Legally authorized to work in the US
• 8+ years in Instrument Engineering or related experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or equivalent environment
• BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering/Engineering Technology required.
• Experience supporting maintenance, reliability, or process organizations
• Engineering skills in troubleshooting/specifying instruments, with knowledge of connectivity to DCS, PLC and/or SIS equipment, associated with process equipment i.e. pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, compressors, piping.
• Successful candidate must have (or be able to obtain) a TWIC card.
