As a Manager of Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the payroll process within the organization. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and effective communication with employees regarding payroll-related matters. The Manager of Payroll plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial well-being of the organization and fostering positive employee relations.

Payroll Processing:

  • Accurately compute and process employee wages, salaries, and deductions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
  • Provide Accounting with monthly Payroll accruals.
  • Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
  • Validate all benefit plan deductions.
  • Ensure confidentiality for all payroll information.

Compliance:

  • Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring proper governmental reporting and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records.
  • Update and reconcile payroll information in the Payroll System.
  • Oversees compilation and preparation of other payroll data such as pension, insurance, etc.

Communication:

  • Collaborate with Accounting, HR, and other departments to gather necessary information for payroll processing.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Provide clear and concise communication regarding payroll-related policies and procedures.

Problem Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner.

Reporting:

  • Preparing ASO benefits reporting
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Ad-hoc reporting as requested.

Systems and Technology:

  • Utilize payroll software and systems to streamline processes.
  • Stay updated on advancements in payroll technology.

Audits:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits as needed.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Strong proficiency in using payroll software (ADP and UKG) and Advanced Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.

  • Demonstrated success with multi-tasking and the ability to adapt to ever-changing environments while maintaining a clear focus on all priorities.
  • Proven ability and experience working with data and having a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while providing outstanding levels of customer service.
