JOB SUMMARY

Provide support, direction and guidance to the Services Design Engineers while managing profitability, quality and timeliness of all projects. Drive standards and consistency to all Services Design Engineers to make the content and format of the Engineering packages seamless to the customer and the Vertiv Installation team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with respective Project Managers to develop the Engineering schedule
  • Work with respective Project Managers to develop the Engineering forecast for NSB and recovery
  • Execute the forecast
  • Ensure customer's standards and processes are implemented and followed
  • Participate in the Engineering/Quoter start up calls and Engineer/Installation start up calls when possible
  • Identify and escalate PCO opportunities
  • Ensure that no work beyond the quoted scope of work or material shipments is performed without concurrence from the Project Manager and Installation manager
  • Responsible for making sure that the BOM and Shipment of orders are on time, and the quality of the engineering packages prior to shipment is free of errors
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and ensure that all safety measures are met
Promote accident prevention and safety awareness

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure technical competency of Engineering group is continually improving along with growing skills sets to compete in new markets
  • By working with and insuring the Engineers understand their metrics, ensure overall Engineering metrics are achieved
Work with growing the skill sets of your Engineering direct reports so they can exceed their metrics

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of five years equivalent practical management experience
  • Computer literate with ability to utilize word processor and spreadsheet application software for written communications, reports, and financial analysis
  • A working knowledge of basic accounting principles, with the ability to understand and apply business financial concepts
Demonstrated administrative skills in decision making, organization and supervision
