Functional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to understand business requirements and contribute to the design of secure, and scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the design of high-level architecture, technical documentation, and data schema designs.
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs for our SaaS products.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
- Collaborate on end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Utilize best practice coding standards, development methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Contribute to planning meetings and collaborate with software engineers and data scientists for backlog refinement and cross-team cooperation.
- Successfully operate within an Agile environment, mentoring, motivating, and collaborating with internal software development engineers and outsourced resources.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the engineering team and other departments, to meet business goals.
- Can effectively work and collaborate in a remote / distributed environment at an exciting, fast-paced digital health tech startup.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of technical experience including hands-on programming and technical design
- Significant experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on SaaS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Knowledge and experience with Azure and Azure services and enterprise data lake solutions.
- Experience with database management systems
- Experience with AWS, Typescript, GraphQL SQL, Postgres, Databricks are preferred.
- Understanding of general software and system design, RESTful APIs, Web tech fundamentals, and coding standards.
- Willingness to provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers as needed.
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of cybersecurity and privacy policy standards and best practices for maintaining SOC 2 certification and HIPAA compliance.
- Knowledge of health care and digital health technology data is preferred for this role.
- Familiarity with ReactJS
