Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Traveling Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team! The PMHNP will play a vital role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions within our residential facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients upon admission and throughout treatment to formulate individualized care plans.
• Diagnose mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and others.
• Develop and oversee medication management plans, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to provide holistic care, integrating medical, behavioral, and therapeutic interventions.
• Offer psychoeducation and counseling to patients and families on treatment options, medication management, and recovery strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
• Participate in treatment planning meetings and case conferences to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Qualifications:

• Current PMHNP certification and state licensure in Ohio.
• Experience working as a PMHNP, preferably in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings.
• Comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacology and evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and proficient computer skills.
