Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Cleveland, Ohio 44195 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (J7-2 Cardiology Stepdown)
• Contract Length: Up to 18 weeks (confirm preferred duration at submission)
• Start Date: September 5, 2025
• End Date: January 9, 2026
• Shifts: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour rotating shifts per week (days: 7am-7:30pm / nights: 7pm-7:30am; shift preference considered but rotation may be required)
• Estimated Weekly Hours: 36-48
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250 - $2310
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent, permanent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (PCU/Progressive Care Unit experience preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or Compact State (must be current at time of application)
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (all must be active)
• One supervisory reference from Cardiac Stepdown (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director)
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (maximum 2 attempts)
• Ability to work at least every other holiday during contract period
• Background check and fingerprinting required prior to start date
• Nicotine screening required for non-nursing travelers; nurses currently exempt

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, promptly recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform continuous cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record system
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
