Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio 44304 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Unit: 17-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) unit
• Position Type: Travel RN (travel nursing, contract nursing)
• Assignment Length: 10 weeks (Start: 10/5/2025 – End: 12/13/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification (Ohio RN license preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN
• Recent charge nurse experience within the last 2 years (must be listed on resume)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Experience with EPIC EMR within the past 12 months
• Proficient in blood draws and IV starts
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• Interview required; please provide your availability
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) permitted

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Monitor and assess patients with epilepsy and medical overflow needs
• Perform blood draws and initiate IVs as necessary
• Serve as charge nurse on select shifts, offering leadership and clinical support
• Float to other nursing units within the healthcare facility as required
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
