JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dependable Line Cook to join our culinary team. Weekend availability is essential due to business demands. Work schedules are based on business volume and operational needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week. Prepares daily preparation lists for production. Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes. Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications. Visually inspects and uses only high-quality ingredients. Checks proper storage and portion control, especially for meats. Maintains cleanliness of all refrigeration, equipment, and work areas per health regulations. Maintains all cooling, heating, and temperature logs. Follows all company policies, safety, and security procedures. Reports unsafe conditions, accidents, and property damage to management. Maintains a neat and professional appearance (per handbook standards). Performs additional duties as requested. Assists other kitchen staff as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

2 years of cooking experience preferred. Basic knowledge of food prep, service standards, and sanitation. Proficient with kitchen equipment and basic kitchen math. Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes and safety labels. Must be able to communicate basic instructions in English. Familiar with beverage equipment operations (e.g., coffee maker).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift and transport up to 100 lbs. Manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools and equipment. Ability to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces. Frequent bending, standing, walking, twisting, and lifting.
