Prym Solutions LLC is seeking a full-time Directional Drill Operator and Locator to support field operations and ensure accurate, safe utility placement in Piketon, OH.

Position Summary

The Directional Drill Operator and Locator is responsible for operating directional drilling equipment and coordinating locating activities to install underground utilities efficiently and accurately. This role combines hands-on machine operation with field-based surveying and verification to meet job specifications and safety requirements.

You will work closely with project teams and other field personnel to plan work execution, interpret site conditions, and maintain quality throughout installation. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically capable, and able to read the jobsite to deliver reliable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities according to project specifications and established procedures.

• Perform locating activities before, during, and after drilling to verify utility positions and minimize conflicts.

• Conduct pre-job checks, equipment inspections, and basic maintenance to keep operations safe and productive.

• Interpret field instructions and adjust drilling approaches based on soil conditions, bore path requirements, and job constraints.

• Document field activities, including progress updates and any notable site findings, following company standards.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to operate directional drilling equipment safely and effectively in a field environment.

• Demonstrated competence with locating practices to verify underground utility positions.

• Strong commitment to safety, including following established site and operational procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret job instructions, measurements, and basic site documentation.

• Willingness to work full-time on active job sites in Piketon, OH, as required by project schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in directional drilling, utility installation, or underground construction operations.

• Experience working with locators and related field verification practices in utility environments.

• Familiarity with common construction site safety practices and hazard recognition.

• Mechanical aptitude and experience performing routine inspections and minor repairs.

• A track record of maintaining accurate jobsite documentation and communicating clearly with the team.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $25.00 - $40.00
