Department:Administration and Planning | DPS Communication and Central Alarm Center Public Safety Dispatcher – Make a Difference Every Day Are you ready to be the first line of response in keeping our campus safe? As a Public Safety Dispatcher at The Ohio State University, you’ll be the voice behind the action –- Answering emergency (911) and non-emergency calls
- Coordinating resources, and ensuring help gets where it’s needed
- Operating Public Safety Communication systems (911, CAD and radio)
- Dispatching police, fire, and security personnel
- Documenting critical events accurately
You will handle all public safety telecommunications, including answering 911 calls, evaluating the nature and severity of incidents , and coordinating the dispatch of emergency units.
