Public Safety Dispatcher – Make a Difference Every Day

Are you ready to be the first line of response in keeping our campus safe? As a Public Safety Dispatcher at The Ohio State University, you’ll be the voice behind the action –

• Answering emergency (911) and non-emergency calls
• Coordinating resources, and ensuring help gets where it’s needed
• Operating Public Safety Communication systems (911, CAD and radio)
• Dispatching police, fire, and security personnel
• Documenting critical events accurately

You will handle all public safety telecommunications, including answering 911 calls, evaluating the nature and severity of incidents , and coordinating the dispatch of emergency units. Ohio State University Department of Public Safety Dispatchers have many tools and technologies available to enhance the safety of our campus community.
