As a Patient Access Representative, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and visitors, from the moment they enter to the time they return home. You will assist them with everything from registration and information gathering to payment collection and insurance verification. This position is in the Admitting and Registration Office, the central point where patients sign in for laboratory services such as blood work, check in for scheduled surgeries and procedures, and receive information regarding billing, insurance coverage, and other administrative matters. This role is a great steppingstone to others within Customer Service and various departments within Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial. + Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register. + Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers. + Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic. + May rotate to different locations/hospitals based on staffing needs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma OR GED **and** two years of experience in a customer-facing role + **OR** an Associate's Degree **and** one year of experience + **OR** a Bachelor's Degree + Knowledge of medical terminology OR completion of course within year of hire + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Healthcare experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
