We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Quality North America to lead our dynamic Quality team in this region. In this important role, you will ensure compliance with industry standards, improve, and contribute to our mission of delivering excellent products to our customers.
This role can be based in Cincinnati and you will report directly to our Global Head of Quality Taste and Wellbeing.
In this exciting role you will:
Leadership and Team Development:
- Directly lead a quality team, focusing on talent management, succession planning, and encouraging a culture of excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and create personalized development plans to help team members reach their full potential.
Quality Strategy Implementation:
- Build and promote a quality culture across our North American operations, ensuring that quality principles are integrated into every aspect of our processes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including R&D, production, and supply chain teams, to agree on strategic direction and priorities, ensuring clarity on quality accountability within operations responsibilities.
- Develop and implement quality strategies that support goals, enhance customer satisfaction, and guide commercial success.
System Improvement and Compliance:
- Enhance our Global Quality & Food Safety Systems to exceed customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate internal audit programs, facilitate risk assessments, and ensure compliance with standards such as FSSC 22000, Organic, and Halal.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Grow Operations Quality and Food Safety performance by developing and monitoring regional and local KPIs, ensuring that quality metrics are tracked and reported.
- Implement targeted programs to improve internal, customer, and vendor quality performance, while managing critical customer complaints and promoting problem-solving capabilities.
Train and Knowledge Sharing:
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance quality and food safety expertise within the team and across the organization.
- Facilitate workshops and seminars to engage employees at all levels in quality programs and foster a shared commitment to excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- A university degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in quality and supplier management in a leadership capacity, with a focus on food safety and quality management systems
- In-depth understanding of ingredient and industrialization processes in complex industries, along with solid experience in risk assessment methodologies such as HACCP
- Proficiency in common IT applications and SAP with program and risk management skills
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to engage at all levels; as an advantage proficiency in additional languages
- Experience working in multicultural and matrix environments
- Expert in analytics and commitment to continuous improvement
