Housing Coordinator

$65,000

Program: HUD Housing

Location: New Castle and Northern Kent County

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours

Schedule: M-F 8a-4p

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Director of Permanent Supportive Housing with all housing compliance activities for Conexio’s affordable and permanent supportive housing programs and will be responsible for coordinating placements of eligible persons into these programs. Duties include implementation of housing screening and placement activities; maintenance of the files of all persons served in all housing programs per policy guidelines, federal rules and regulations, and contractual agreements; and provisions of housing locator services for persons served at Conexio. He/she will be required to handle matters of confidential and sensitive nature and must maintain the confidentiality of all clinical, financial, personnel, and proprietary information.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain tenant files: Ensure all tenant documentation (e.g., homelessness status, income, leases, eligibility) is complete and compliant with agency and contract standards.
  • Application and rent tracking: Screen housing applications, update resident rosters, and monitor rent payments.
  • Data entry in DE-CMIS: Input all required data, including entry/exit information, into the Delaware Homeless Management Information System.
  • Housing inspections: Conduct and document inspections at move-in, move-out, and annually to ensure units meet Housing Quality Standards.
  • Repair coordination: Work with property managers or landlords to address repairs and maintain housing standards.
  • Staff collaboration: Communicate with treatment teams and other staff to resolve housing-related issues for clients.
  • Landlord relations: Build relationships with landlords and affordable housing providers to maintain a list of available units.
  • Financial processing: Enter and release rent and utility payments in Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing.
  • Participant tracking: Monitor and document housing status, vacant units, and housing searches; share updates with relevant staff.
  • Meetings and other duties: Attend meetings and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Permanent Supportive Housing.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A combination of education and related experience. Familiarity with non-profit organizations and housing programs for persons with special needs.
  • Valid drivers license and completion of Delaware Safety Council Defensive Driving Course


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of PC applications including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain outside agency and interdepartmental working relationships.
  • Ability to self-motivate.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and materials.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to use CMIS, Microsoft Dynamics, and other required software programs.
