Travel RN Job Details – Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown

• Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio travel nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown / Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
• Daily Census: 19 patients
• Beds: 24
• Orientation: 36 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown or Pediatric Progressive Care Unit
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
• Two supervisor references required at submission (one must be manager/supervisor titled)
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Cannot have worked permanent at this facility within the last 2 years
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates)

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric cardiac stepdown patients with medical and surgical cardiac conditions
• Manage complex needs including tracheostomies, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, post-op cardiac catheterizations, and post-CTICU care
• Administer and monitor inotropes, care for heart and lung transplant patients, and provide advanced cardiac therapies
• Perform specialized procedures: central line care, chest tube maintenance, BiPAP/CPAP, and PICC line management
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and ensure infection control and isolation precautions
• Float to other units within the MS cluster as required
• Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
