Ongoing Caseworker -- Child Protection Unit
Now Hiring: Department: Clinton County Job and Family Services- Child Protection Unit; Wilmington, OH Reports to: Child Protection Supervisor Employment Status: Full-Time Classification: Classified (Non-Exempt) Schedule: Mon--Fri, 8:00 a.m.--4:30 p.m. (flexible) On-Call: Rotation after training is completed Starting Pay: $20.85/hour (based on education & experience) Probationary Period: 365 days About Us Clinton County JFS is dedicated to protecting children, strengthening families, and partnering with our community to ensure every child has a safe, stable, and supportive home. We're looking for passionate professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of children and families. What You'll Do Ensure child safety: Assess risks, visit homes, and advocate for children in court when needed. Support families: Develop case plans, arrange services, supervise visitation, and support reunification or permanency planning, with a focus on keeping families safely together whenever possible. Collaborate with others: Partner with families, schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies. Stay organized: Maintain case records in SACWIS, meet deadlines, and attend trainings. Be flexible: Participate in the on-call rotation and provide after-hours emergency response when needed. Minimum Qualifications Per ORC 5153.112, applicants must meet one of the following: * Bachelor's degree in a human-services field, OR * Bachelor's degree in another field + 2 years of human-services experience, OR * Associate degree in a human-services field, OR * At least 60 semester credit hours toward a human-services degree, OR * 5+ years in a human-services occupation Additional Requirements * Valid Ohio Driver's License, liability insurance, and reliable transportation. ** Ability to pass background checks: BCI, FBI, SACWIS, Child Abuse/Neglect, Sex Offender Registry, BMV, and drug screening. * Regular, reliable attendance. * Strong communication & problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in social work or related field * Experience in social services or child welfare * Knowledge of SACWIS and child welfare rules/laws * Strong communication, writing, and computer skills * Comfort working with diverse families in varied environments What We Offer * Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement) * Paid time off & holidays * Paid training and professional development opportunities ** A supportive team committed to making a difference How to Apply: Send a cover letter, resume, and 3 professional references to: [email protected] or apply on Indeed.com Clinton County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
