Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and specialized treatment, bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical units.
Job Details:
- Start Date: April 9, 2026
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours: 12-hour shifts | 36 hours guaranteed per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- On-Call: None
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management aligned with physician orders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address acute pain management, infection control, and other complex medical needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years RN experience
- Post-operative open heart care experience
- Chest tube and drain management experience
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Pre- and post-procedure care (radial & femoral access)
- Experience with temporary pacers, NIV devices, and oxygen delivery systems
- Must be willing to float to units within skill level
